Class start dates are every Monday accept on recognized school holidays.

To enroll at MileOne CDL School, students must meet the following requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age for intrastate (within state) and 21 years of age for interstate (ourside state)
Documentation: Hold a valid Texas driver’s license with no outstanding tickets or warrants, provide a Social Security card or proof of legal authorization to work in the United States, reside in the State of Texas and provide a high school diploma, GED, or successfully pass the written Learner’s Permit section (Commercial Learner's Permit) of the CDL Exam
Complete the MileOne Admissions Application
Be able to read and speak English and perform basic arithmetic
Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination (Long Form required)
Pass a Department of Transportation drug screen
Meet federal medical qualifications, including:
- No loss of limb without a Skill Performance Evaluation certificate
- N o insulin‑dependent diabetes
- No uncontrolled heart, respiratory, or blood pressure conditions
- No neurological, muscular, or vascular conditions affecting vehicle control
- No epilepsy or conditions causing loss of consciousness
- No mental or psychiatric disorders that interfere with safe driving
- Vision of 20/40 or better in each eye; not color blind
- Adequate hearing
No felony convictions involving illegal drugs in a commercial vehicle
No DWI violations within the last 5 years

WHAT ARE MY STEPS
TO GETTING A CDL?

Choose a school recognized with a Certificate of Approval from TWC. Every school offers a different approach to training. You want to research what school fits your scheduling to train and has an enviroment you are comfortable with while you train. We hope your choice is with MileOne CDL School!

Be sure you meet the admission requirements listed above to include acquiring your DOT Physical and/or Drug Screen. Choosing a center for your DOT Physical is your choice. Complete MileOne Admission Application - Your admission application is the first step to prepare you for CDL class. We want to be sure you are ready and have met all requirements before enrolling with MileOne. A member of our administrative team will reach out and help in preparation for your class start date.

After verifying your admission status, we officially sign up for your first day of Class.

We begin classes on every Monday for students to study ELDT Theory (Entry Level Driver Training) and study towards testing for the Commercial License Permit (CLP) . The 40 hour theory class ensures new drivers meet minimum proficiency standards in both theory and behind-the-wheel instruction before taking skills or knowledge tests at the DMV.

You pass your ELDT theory course and we schedule you to take your CLP directly after passing theory. After you acquire your CLP, we schedule you for Range and Road training on the yard where you learn Pre-trip and Behind-the-Wheel training for your Class A CDL or Class B CDL.

After Range and Road training and you are deemed proficient to test for your CDL. MileOne will schedule your appointment for testing. You test in the truck you trained with so that you are familiar with your test truck.
